Jeanne Brei
2010 Volunteer of the Year

“Jazzin’ Jeanne Brei” is the smiling girl with laughing eyes and dancing feet that has hosted the big ballrooms for the past several years. She has done everything except clean the bathrooms for the festival. She acted as the “dresser” for Pat Yankee in her one-woman shows and acted as an assistant to Banu. She emcee’s with an excellent clear announcing voice and a scholarly knowledge of the artists she is presenting, a characteristic that she perfected doing TV documentaries. She can also be found singing and dancing in the Midnight Jam sets in the lobby. The energizer bunny has nothing on her.  Jeanne is a one-woman whirlwind packing in every experience that is possible into each day. Reading her notes on facebook can wear you out just thinking about all of the things she has tried and has done from a tap career that began at age three, to riding a camel to the Pyramids in Egypt and barnstorming in a 1941 Stearman Stunt plane. Jeanne has her own band, the Speakeasy Swingers, in Las Vegas and released her first self titled C-D in 2008.

We are both proud and pleased to add Volunteer of the Year to her long list of credits. Thank you Jeanne.
