Dancing for Joy

Dancing the Night Away

Peach Holmes

Celebrate our treasured American Music with a gift to help keep the music live and on stage for the next generations.

It doesn’t matter how much you give, only that you give. Check out the many ways in which you can celebrate our heritage. Financial support keeps the venues open and the artists paid. In-kind support helps defray expenses and spreads the word to others in the community.

Please accept our thanks for your support and keep the faith!

Sweet and Hot Music Foundation

Jive Talkin'
The Sweet and Hot Foundation has several jazzy organizations that offer you opportunities to support the music in high style. Listed here are a few suggestions for ways in which you can become a partner and help this American art form flourish in the future.

Jazz it Up
Participate: Attend live music functions, festivals and concerts. Hire live music groups for your functions, both personal and through your organizations, workplaces and clubs. Join a jazz club or society, or a dance group. Dancing is one of the best exercises for your health and you get to hug someone in the bargain. Request the music on your local radio station. Buy c-d’s, ask the store to stock your favorite performers. Listening, dancing and making new friends are all benefits, all good and all good for you. Not only will you be helping to preserve the music, but you will be enriching your life.

Good Vibrations
Enlist: Spread the word. Invite friends. Hand out brochures and information at the functions you attend- church groups, senior centers, vintage car club, PTA meetings, Tupperware parties and dance clubs. Create a Red Hat outing for your Red Hat society ; see the Red Hat website or call the festival for information regarding club rates. Add the Sweet and Hot festival to your Social network- Facebook, Twitter and on your website.

Perfect Harmony
Sponsor: It is our intent to offer the very best talent and entertainment at a reasonable ticket cost. Your financial sponsorship enables the festival to reach out and provide the highest caliber performer available, sponsorship of an artist, a group or the stage is a welcome boost to the quality we can showcase and is greatly appreciated. Sponsors who can offer in-kind assistance free up production costs so that the foundation are able to fund additional outreach programs such as scholarships. In- kind support could include printing, equipment and other services that now need to be purchased. Sponsors receive acknowledgement on this website, in the souvenir program and throughout the year in our publications.

Make A Joyful Noise
Buy Ad Space: The program is the only source of scheduling information and performing artists that is available to the public other than this website. It is a keepsake commemorating the year and your participation in the event. The ad can represent your business or it can just be FUN! Put in a personal message, create a page or a space to honor your favorite performer or dance partner or send a special message to a special someone in a lasting remembrance of the event. The ad-space money will directly assist in reducing the cost of printing the program.

For the Love of Music
Volunteer: The festivals and concerts depend on volunteer help to present the music in a comfortable and professional venue. Volunteers are needed in many areas, not only at the function but before, during and after! You may have a skill or some talent or time that you can give in support of the music that would be invaluable to success. And it can be lots of Fun!

The Right Note
Youth Sponsor: The Foundation is dedicated to presenting and preserving the music, in order to accomplish this goal we need to have an active youth participation program. Sponsoring young talent by contributing to the foundation will allow more paid performances, tutoring scholarships, even purchasing music instruments or donating that gently used instrument now stored in the hall closet can further this need.

Here’s how you can help…
2011 Sweet & Hot Music Festival Sponsorship Program.

The Peach Circle was created to honor the memory of our founding “mom” and the monies that go into her circle are used to continue the production of the event and especially toward the youth talent programs. Peach dedicated many years to supporting and promoting our music. The Peach Circle is a way for her friends to honor her memory by donating to the festival.

Become a member of the Peach Circle. A One year membership is $100.00. Members receive a classic enamel lapel pin,an invitation to a cocktail party during the festival on Friday and Saturday night and name listed in the souvenir program.
Donations in any amount are very welcome, but we do hope you will consider becoming a member of the Peach Circle.

A donation to the Peach Circle fulfills the promise made to celebrate and honor the musical cornerstone set as the foundation for the Walk of Fame and in the production of the uniquely individual Sweet and Hot Music Festival. The donation is tax deductible and 100% is used to complete the circle she envisioned so many years ago to protect and preserve this beautiful American art.

Oldies for Oldos

What:  Sweet & Hot Music Foundation’s outreach to seniors and others housed in nursing and assisted living facilities by providing musical entertainment at no cost to the facility.

Benefits:

1. Takes great live music to those aren’t able to get out and see or hear it.

2. Promotes mental/physical healing as has been proven by scientific research.

3. Provides for social bonding within the facility.

4. Creates more jobs for local musicians.

The Sweet & Hot Music Foundation is well known for its yearly music festival, which is now in its 16th year. It has had a long association with Jazz America, which targets the middle and school aged burgeoning musician. Now, we are extending our support to what we like to call the “Oldos,” those Aging Americans from the “forgotten generation.” (1930-1945)

The short term benefits include; more community awareness to the continued well-being of our seniors and shut-ins, and another job resource for local musicians (some of whom are “oldos” themselves).

The long-term benefits are immeasurable, as we at the Sweet & Hot Music Foundation know exactly how beneficial the joy of music can be.
